Rescue Me ID: 18-02-20-00050Brewster (male)

Schnauzer Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for Adult dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. Also, our puppies can only be adopted to the immediate Houston vicinity as it takes 4 months to get them completely vetted at our vet here in Houston. We will not allow our dogs/puppies to be adopted out of the area without being spayed/neutered. We spay/neuter puppies at 4 months old. Hello there, I'm Brewster! Before becoming an K-9 Angels pup I was aimlessly wondering these cold city streets. At the moment I live with these two ... (Read More)older chicks. It's different than what I'm used to, but I have so much fun going for walks on a leash and playing with toys. Most of the time I remember to use the doggie door to potty outside. My favorite time spent is eating, sleeping and learning new things. Would you like to teach me something new? Brewster is a male, Jack Russell/ Miniature Schnauzer mix. He is approx 11 weeks old (est DOB 11/29/17) and weighs 11 lbs. PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org/k9_angels_rescue_adoption_process.html. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month time frame it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready. NOTE: All dogs are officially the property of K-9 Angels Rescue until they are altered by our veterinarian. Please LIKE and share our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/k9angelsrescue. (Less)

Schnauzer Mix    Age: Senior

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

We have a soft spot for seniors at TSR. Meet Kasey. She is a 10 year old schnauzer mix. Kasey is very sweet in spite of her circumstances. When we got her you could see and feel her bones through her skin. She is eating well now and starting to thrive. Kasey saw our awesome vets Tuesday. We found out she has cataracts in both eyes and luxating patellas. They also removed pellets from her skin where someone had been shooting at her. While we realize finding this sweet girl a home might prove to be difficult we feel in our hearts the right person will love Kasey as she is and give her a forever home!     PIXEL is a cute little male schnauzer! He is a young guy with lots of energy and wants to play. He is very puppy'ish in his actions and silly ways - always wants to play or chew on fingers. Our vet estimates him to be about two years old. He is very playful and silly. He LOVES to play with other dogs, we hope to place him in a home with another dog to play with. He would not do well with cats. Because of his constant playfulness he would not do well with small children, older kids he would do great. Pixel would not do well in an apartment, he needs a yard to run and play. Pixel is white and has a docked tail. He weighs about 10 pounds and ... Schnauzer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Nola is a spayed four year old schnauzer mix. She was rescued a year ago from a shelter in Louisiana. We know nothing about her background. Her foster mom believes she was mistreated because she was frightened of people when we first rescued her. She could only pet her about three times on the head before she would try and bite. She wouldn't allow her to bet her anywhere else. After many months of showing Nola what love is she will now jump in her foster mom's lap and want to be petted and held. She will also allow our groomer to give her a makeover. She will now let strangers pet her and asks for more love when they stop. Nola has come ... (Read More)a long way in learning to trust but she still can get mad if her foster mom tries to make her do something she doesn't want to do, for example, get out of bed when she isn't ready or take a toy or bone from her. She will bite. Her new mom or dad will have to understand that she can't be forced to do things unless she wants to. They will need to learn her 'look' when she doesn't want to be bothered. She does responds well when bribed with treats. ?? Nola would not be good with any age child! She loves other animals but won't interact/play with them. She is crate and potty trained. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Schnauzer in Texas
Schnauzer Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. The Schnauzer is a thickly bearded, medium sized, Terrier type dog. Schnauzers are proud, vivacious animals. Schnauzers are protective toward their people and want to be the boss. It is important to thoroughly socialize and train a Schnauzer when it is a puppy. Schnauzers do fine with older kids. A Schnauzer needs lots and lots of exercise and a daily walk but can live in an apartment if its exercise needs are met.
