Rescue Me ID: 17-07-09-00380Wesley (male)

Schnauzer Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Wesley is a scruffy, handsome little guy. He is full of energy and loves to play! He's favorite activity is dragging things much larger than him around the house. He plays well with his foster siblings. Wesley sleeps through the night in his crate and is working on potty training. He loves people and is very willing to accept cuddles. Male Chihuahua / Miniature Schnauzer mix we estimate to be born around May 25, 2017. Rescue Me ID: 17-06-30-00346Ninny (female)

Schnauzer Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

**SPECIAL NEEDS** Ninny came to K-9 Angels after being found dumped on the side of the road in Houston. Her finder thought she was a opossum at first with how frail and hairless she looked. Her hair was very thin and almost none existent on her tail and back end. For a week all she wanted to do was sleep and eat and sleep again. No telling if she had ever had a nice blanket to sleep on or good food to eat ever in her lifetime. She is hard of hearing and seeing but I believe can see shadows and perks up when I call her name. Her sniffer works REALLY well though. We believe she was used for breeding and got too old and dumped out like trash. ... (Read More)She is now spayed though, so no more babies for this girl. She's also Heartworm Negative!! She may be a senior old lady but she gets around just fine and can sniff me from across the house. She has low thyroid levels so she needs to be on thyroid medicine for the rest of her life which has helped her tremendously. It's given her so much more energy! She had a much needed dental done to remove most of the teeth that she had left. She has 3 left that I like to call her hippo teeth since she reminds me of a hippo whenever she yawns. :) Ninny LOVES puppies as she likes to go up to their puppy pen or crate and just wag her tail a mile a minute and even will try and clean them if she lets them. She is house trained and will hold it until you take her outside. She has come full circle from when she first came to us and has been the best little house guest which you barely know is there. She's very easy to please and just wants to be where you are and snuggle. She may be an old lady but she's still got lots and lots of love left to give and would make any family happy to have her for what time she has left. Can you open your heart and your home to bring this sweet ol' girl home with you? Come meet her this weekend at our adoption center and you won't be able to say no once you look into her sweet soulful eyes and they melt your heart. (3 Ninny is a Female Miniature Schnauzer Mix that we estimate to be born around 5/1/2005 and currently weighs about 11 lbs, but is working on getting more weight put on her. PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. He does great with other dogs and kids but he is not trusting of adults at first. He will need someone that needs him too! A patient, kind hand and hearted person!! He has a wonderful Foster Mom that is working with him to help him overcome some of his fears!! He loves car rides, and has done well at adoption events.

First, you submit an application, which is presented to our Board for approval or rejection. If approved, a home check is done, and if that passes - you adopt which includes a 1-week trial period, if - for any reason during that first week, the adoption is not working out, you can return the dog for a full refund of your adoption fee. )))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))WE NEED FOSTER HOMES FOR ANIMALS! Fosters are the backbone of animal rescue. In most EVERY shelter - in most EVERY county - in most EVERY city - animals are being euthanized (KILLED) daily due to overcrowding - dog - cat - large - small - male - female - puppy - kitten - old - young. We cannot save them without foster homes. APPROXIMATELY ONE OUT OF THREE ANIMALS THAT ENTER A SHELTER IS EUTHANIZED. These healthy sweet pets would have made great companions. Don't know what fostering is? Briefly - it is babysitting an animal until he/she is adopted. FOSTERING IS FREE TO DO! Most rescues cover all expenses for fosters, and anything they do not cover is tax-deductible. If you cannot foster - please ask your friends and family to. If you want more information - Google 'animal fostering.' I'm begging - it's only temporary but lives can't be saved unless people step up - PLEASE - shelters are overflowing - when you foster one animal - you save two lives - the one you foster and the one that gets his/her space in the shelter. If you can/will foster - let me know, I thank you - and the animals thank you! PS - Have you ever dreamed of helping a rescue but don't have the time, space, or just plain don't know what to do? At your pet limit? Allergic? Can't have pets where you live? Well - how about becoming a VIRTUAL FOSTER... You can choose a minimum amount of $10 a month to 'virtually' foster a homeless animal of your choice (of course, a larger sum would be happily accepted and appreciated). What does Virtual Foster mean? Our foster fur babies typically have many veterinary bills, as this is the nature of being rescued. There are also other expenses related to the ongoing care and rehab of fosters. As a Virtual Foster, your donation will go towards the vetting - medical care, and general care of the animal you have chosen. Your donation will go a LONG way in ensuring a foster dog receives the needed care and attention! In return for your kind tax-deductible donation, you will receive a periodic update on the progress of your foster. Once your foster is adopted, you will be notified so that you can choose another animal to virtually foster. If you genuinely cannot adopt or foster, there are still other ways to help. Sponsor an adoption or medical treatment. Volunteer your time - drive for transports, rescue groups always need dogs transported from one place to the next. Donate money, our rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all donations are tax deductible. Educate - spread the word about the need for fosters. Sign up for notifications from your local rescue group or shelter, and share the animals in need on social media, there are so many ways to help - thank you (Less)

Schnauzer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Nola is a spayed four year old schnauzer mix. She was rescued a year ago from a shelter in Louisiana. We know nothing about her background. Her foster mom believes she was mistreated because she was frightened of people when we first rescued her. She could only pet her about three times on the head before she would try and bite. She wouldn't allow her to bet her anywhere else. After many months of showing Nola what love is she will now jump in her foster mom's lap and want to be petted and held. She will also allow our groomer to give her a makeover. She will now let strangers pet her and asks for more love when they stop. Nola has come ... (Read More)a long way in learning to trust but she still can get mad if her foster mom tries to make her do something she doesn't want to do, for example, get out of bed when she isn't ready or take a toy or bone from her. She will bite. Her new mom or dad will have to understand that she can't be forced to do things unless she wants to. They will need to learn her 'look' when she doesn't want to be bothered. She does responds well when bribed with treats. ?? Nola would not be good with any age child! She loves other animals but won't interact/play with them. She is crate and potty trained. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-01-13-00097Robbie (male)

Schnauzer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adult Men Only
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hi everyone! I'm Robbie! I am close to two years old and so much fun! I know I may bark when you come up, but don't let that fool you; I am just a super friendly rambunctious puppy! I love to play with toys, chase balls, and play with my foster sisters! My smaller foster sister use to be scared of me, but I won her over with my ch arm and great looks! We're friends now! Besides my two foster sisters, there's something called a 'kitty' that I got to meet. She stays in the back of the house where us dogs aren't allowed to go, but they let me go back there to meet her. I just walked up to her, sniffed and walked away. So maybe I wouldn't be too ... (Read More)bad around those, as long as they didn't try to run away from me. I'd love to have a home with other dogs to play with for sure though! I love men, so I'd prefer to be in a home with men and no kids. I love to play, but I also like to cuddle up beside you or at your feet and nap. My foster parents say I am a very sweet, attentive little man! I'm good with baths, so no worries about bath time for me. I didn't try to jump out of the bathtub or anything. I sleep in my crate at night without any complaints. I'm even learning 'go night night' so I'll go in the crate when you ask (sometimes I even put myself to bed before anyone else goes to sleep). In the morning I'm ready to play though! My foster parents think my fuzzy hair makes me look like Einstein! Not only do I look like him, I'm smart like him too! I am potty trained and know to go to the door when I need out. I'm even learning the words 'outside' and 'potty' so you can ask me. I know 'sit' and 'dance' (that's why they call me Tiny Dancer) and am learning 'stay' and 'leave it.' I also know 'Get the ball' (when I want to) and 'Shh,' since I really like to talk a lot. I am super treat-motivated. You can probably teach me a lot of fun tricks with a little effort and a lot of treats! I just need someone who likes an active playful dog and is willing to work with me. I will love you forever though! Please choose me to be your dog; I have so much love to give and can't wait to shower you with kisses! Robbie is a Male Miniature Schnauzer / Shih Tzu Mix that we estimate to be born around July 28, 2015. PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org/k9_angels_rescue_application_to_adopt.html. However, we only adopt young puppies locally, due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready.
