Kyla is an adorable little girl that is so affectionate! Poor Kyla had a rough start, she was in a home with other schnauzers. She came to us covered in so many ticks that she had a lot of hair loss. She was so thin and so weak from all the ticks! We got rid of all the ticks and started her on a healthy lifestyle! Her hair was so thin and in some places she was bald but we got her on some good food and vitamins and in no time her hair was coming back!! Now her hair is is full and she is ready ... (Read More)for a second haircut to even everything out. Kyla is one of the sweetest girls you could ever meet - she LOVES people and wants to be held and noticed all the time, she follows everywhere! She gets along well with other dogs - can be bossy with females so may be better with males. Kyla is not very big, she weighed 11.5 pounds at her last vet visit. She was born on 10/03/2015 according to the records given to us by the previous owner. Kyla has been spayed, current on vaccines, and heartworm negative. She is on heartworm preventative and flea/tick preventative. She will be groomed and ready to go to an approved new home after Thanksgiving! WE ARE IN ABILENE, TEXAS. WE DO NOT SHIP OR TRANSPORT OUR PETS, WE REQUIRE ADOPTERS MEET THE DOG TO MAKE SURE IT IS A GOOD FIT. NOTE: We are a rescue, the dogs are in foster homes. WE DO NOT HAVE A FACILITY THAT OPENS TO THE PUBLIC. We require an application BEFORE a potential adopter will be introduced to one of our pets. We contact vets to ensure that pets already in the adoptive home are current on vaccines, heartworm prevention and sterilized. We have gotten to know the pet and our goal is to make the best match, between pet and people. PLEASE be aware, we do not adopt out to a home that has an animal which has not been spayed or neutered. Please email us at adopt@pawedsquad.com to receive an Adoption Application or for more information on our Adoption process. Please take the time to visit our website www.pawedsquad.com for additional information. We represent the pet to the best of our ability, they are rescue dogs and we don't always get their history. (Read More)EXAM at Banfield - GROOMING COUPONS - over $400 of coupons/savings - and MUCH MORE! We have a two-step adoption process. First, you submit an application, which is presented to our Board for approval or rejection. If approved, a home check is done, and if that passes - you adopt which includes a 1-week trial period, if - for any reason during that first week, the adoption is not working out, you can return the dog for a full refund of your adoption fee. )))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))WE NEED FOSTER HOMES FOR ANIMALS! Fosters are the backbone of animal rescue. In most EVERY shelter - in most EVERY county - in most EVERY city - animals are being euthanized (KILLED) daily due to overcrowding - dog - cat - large - small - male - female - puppy - kitten - old - young. We cannot save them without foster homes. APPROXIMATELY ONE OUT OF THREE ANIMALS THAT ENTER A SHELTER IS EUTHANIZED. These healthy sweet pets would have made great companions. Don't know what fostering is? Briefly - it is babysitting an animal until he/she is adopted. FOSTERING IS FREE TO DO! Most rescues cover all expenses for fosters, and anything they do not cover is tax-deductible. If you cannot foster - please ask your friends and family to. If you want more information - Google 'animal fostering.' I'm begging - it's only temporary but lives can't be saved unless people step up - PLEASE - shelters are overflowing - when you foster one animal - you save two lives - the one you foster and the one that gets his/her space in the shelter. If you can/will foster - let me know, I thank you - and the animals thank you! PS - Have you ever dreamed of helping a rescue but don't have the time, space, or just plain don't know what to do? At your pet limit? Allergic? Can't have pets where you live? Well - how about becoming a VIRTUAL FOSTER... You can choose a minimum amount of $10 a month to 'virtually' foster a homeless animal of your choice (of course, a larger sum would be happily accepted and appreciated). What does Virtual Foster mean? Our foster fur babies typically have many veterinary bills, as this is the nature of being rescued. There are also other expenses related to the ongoing care and rehab of fosters. As a Virtual Foster, your donation will go towards the vetting - medical care, and general care of the animal you have chosen. Your donation will go a LONG way in ensuring a foster dog receives the needed care and attention! In return for your kind tax-deductible donation, you will receive a periodic update on the progress of your foster. Once your foster is adopted, you will be notified so that you can choose another animal to virtually foster. If you genuinely cannot adopt or foster, there are still other ways to help. Sponsor an adoption or medical treatment. Volunteer your time - drive for transports, rescue groups always need dogs transported from one place to the next. Donate money, our rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all donations are tax deductible. Educate - spread the word about the need for fosters. Sign up for notifications from your local rescue group or shelter, and share the animals in need on social media, there are so many ways to help - thank you (Less)

I've gotta be honest...I don't know the first thing about baseball, but I do know chasing balls su re is a lot of fun! I'm a male 4 month-old Havanese/Schnauzer mix that is just learning the ropes around here. I'm currently in a house with a bunch of other dogs and we all get along great. They're a little old and cranky, but I'm trying to win them over with my boundless puppy energy. I love running around with my puppy friend Correa, napping hard, then doing it all over again! I'm a growing guy that loves to be held but can be independent and curious around the house. I'm learning how to do my business outside but I'm just a little puppy, so it's going to take some time to get the whole thing down. I'm hoping for a forever family of my own to grow up with. Could that be you? I won't be at the Adoption Center for a few weeks because I just got my first set of shots. You can still turn in an application though because I'd really love to meet you. Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. Also, our puppies can only be adopted to the immediate Houston vicinity as it takes 4 months to get them completely vetted at our vet here in Houston. We will not allow our dogs/puppies to be adopted out of the area without being spayed/neutered. We spay/neuter puppies at 4 months old. Hola humans, my name is Fala and foster momma named me after this famous pup that got to live in something called the White House way back when with someone ... (Read More)that goes by the President. Sounds like I've got some big shoes to fill. Any who I was found all by my lonesome on the streets of Houston and some nice lady took me from the big bad doggie jail and I became a K-9 Angel! I've been living the good life for a few weeks now and I'm loving every second of it! Foster momma feeds me really good and I love to chase after the other four legged pups in the house. I have to be careful though since I'm so tiny still to not get stepped on. The other K-9 pup in the house thinks he's as big as me and doesn't realize he's not, so for now foster momma just lets me torment the other smaller two. I've been such a good boy sleeping through the night in my puppy pen without a peep and I know to go potty on the newspaper/puppy pads. Since I'm still so young I haven't grasped the whole needing to go potty outside but I think I'm doing good so far for a youngster. Even though I won't have another puppy friend to hang out with I'd like to think I've got the upper hand and used to being by myself so I don't feel lonely being separated from a buddy when I find my furever home. Momma did get me a stuffed lampchop to snuggle up to which I love or just dragging him around my room works too. ;) Fala is a Male Terrier / maybe Dachshund Mix that we estimate to be born around 9/20/2017 and currently weighs 4 lbs. PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org/k9_angels_rescue_application_to_adopt.html. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month time frame it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready. NOTE: All dogs are officially the property of K-9 Angels Rescue until they are altered by our veterinarian. Please LIKE and share our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/k9angelsrescue. (Less)

Right now, I'm learning how to fetch and bring the ball back. Isn't that wonderful? I'm also doing a great jo b with potty training! Are you proud of me? My foster mommy says that the thing she loves most about me is when I cuddle in her lap and give her sweet hugs. Benson is currently living with 4 other animals and is incredibly dog-friendly.     ONLY EXPERIENCED ADOPTER WILL BE CONSIDERED Coyote is a high energy, playful and athletic boy. He loves toys and playing with other dogs. Occasionally he will challenge another male. His owner said that he was surrendering him to the shelter because he was homeless. Coyote seems to have been left to fend for himself a lot prior to foster care. His challenge is trust. He is a young dog and will probably mellow with time and after having been neutered. He is sweet and affectionate on his own ... (Read More)terms.     My name is Trini and I'm a 5-year-old Shih-Tzu mix and weigh about 10lbs. I'm a little shy when you first meet me, but I'm quickly learning to trust people and LOVE to cuddle and give kisses once I have time to warm up. I'm a very calm and quiet girl who prefers my house to be calm and quiet as well, so older dogs and older children are my preference! I'm 100% potty trained, which means no accidents in the house for me - plus, I'm not destructive, so I don't chew anything up! I would be perfect in an apartment - I like to just lounge around and hang out with my people. So let me know if you're looking for a calm and loyal pup that will look ...     Hi I'm Moxie and I'm an 8-year-old Schnauzer mix and weigh about 15 lbs. Despite my tough past, I'm definitely a happy-go-lucky girl - nothing is going to get me down! I had my back leg amputated, but that hasn't slowed me down at all! I've NEVER met a stranger - I love all dogs and all people (big and small) and I even like cats! I'm a smart girl and I'm almost completely housetrained after learning to live with 3 legs AND I'm crate-trained! I'm always up for anything: if you want to be goofy and play ball, that's one of my favorite activities! If you want to cuddle and watch TV, I'm REALLY good at that, too.     PIXEL is a cute little male schnauzer! He is a young guy with lots of energy and wants to play. He was in a rural shelter and we were told he is about nine months old. He is very puppy'ish in his actions and silly ways - always wants to play or chew on finger. our vet estimates him to be about two years so our guess is he is somewhere between those two. He is very playful and silly. Pixel is white and has a docked tail. He weighs 8.9 pounds and has been neutered, current on vaccines, dewormed, and tested for heartworms. WE ARE IN ABILENE, TEXAS.     Nola is a spayed four year old schnauzer mix. She was rescued a year ago from a shelter in Louisiana. We know nothing about her background. Her foster mom believes she was mistreated because she was frightened of people when we first rescued her. She could only pet her about three times on the head before she would try and bite. She wouldn't allow her to bet her anywhere else. After many months of showing Nola what love is she will now jump in her foster mom's lap and want to be petted and held. She will also allow our groomer to give her a makeover. She will now let strangers pet her and asks for more love when they stop. Nola has come ... (Read More)a long way in learning to trust but she still can get mad if her foster mom tries to make her do something she doesn't want to do, for example, get out of bed when she isn't ready or take a toy or bone from her. She will bite. Her new mom or dad will have to understand that she can't be forced to do things unless she wants to. They will need to learn her 'look' when she doesn't want to be bothered. She does responds well when bribed with treats. ?? Nola would not be good with any age child! She loves other animals but won't interact/play with them. She is crate and potty trained. (Less)

Schnauzers are protective toward their people and want to be the boss. It is important to thoroughly socialize and train a Schnauzer when it is a puppy. Schnauzers do fine with older kids. A Schnauzer needs lots and lots of exercise and a daily walk but can live in an apartment if its exercise needs are met.
