Rescue Me ID: 18-02-06-00121Lucky (male)

Schnauzer Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

Lucky is a pug/schnauzer mix, a rescue we adopted when he was 7 months old. He was born on Nov. 4, 2009 and will celebrate his 9th birthday this year. He currently lives in our home with two other dogs - one male and one female, and two kids - two girls - ages 17 and 12. Our pets are spoiled rotten. They are allowed on our furniture and have easy access to the fenced in backyard through a doggie door, 24 hours a day. We are a nonsmoking household. Our female dog is a smaller breed who is prone to piddling in the house. Lucky will mark his territory - urinate on the spot - when he discovers the scent. Our other male dog dominates Lucky ... (Read More)but Lucky tolerates the behavior. He takes 15 mg daily of prozac for his anxiety. We had hoped the medication would stop him from marking his territory inside our home. He's a very sweet dog who needs a calm environment, preferably where he is the only dog. I do not know how he would be around other cats as we do not have cats. He is in perfect health and recently had his six month checkup at Banfield. He also just had his teeth cleaned. All Lucky wants to do is sleep, take walks and get a lot of attention. If you want a sweet lapdog who is potty trained, crate trained and loyal, Lucky is the perfect dog for you. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 18-01-27-00293Molly (female)

Schnauzer Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected,
 Fearful/Anxious

We believe Molly to be about 7 years old. She has recently undergone cataract surgery. Molly will need Rx eye drops for the rest of her life but they are not expensive. Molly was a guest at one of our partners in rescue, The Senior Scenter. She was adopted into a wonderful family in NJ but was too jealous of her new brother and kept causing problems. She wasn't able to get along with the kids at the Senior Scenter so when she had to come back, we offered to help. This little girl is the most loving thing once she gets to know you and trusts you but she's scared of being hurt again and will nip. Our poor little lady has been in 7 ... (Read More)places/homes in under 2 years. Because of her nippiness, and her fears, Molly is only available for adoption as an ONLY Dog to a home with no small children. Molly is housebroke, walks well on a leash, crate trained and absolutely loves to go for rides. She's an excellent traveling companion and snuggler and gets along well with cats. (Less)

Schnauzers are protective toward their people and want to be the boss. It is important to thoroughly socialize and train a Schnauzer when it is a puppy. Schnauzers do fine with older kids.
