    My heart is breaking. I bought this dog for my husbands 60th birthday and he passed away Memorial weekend and I just don't think I can handle him. We had 3 dogs at his passing and he always took care of them, he was the alpha dog. And now Harpo has gotten so big and he jumps on me and I'm afraid he's going to knock me down and there is no one here anymore to help me up. He's a goofy dog and he tries very hard to be good. I don't know if this is the right thing to do, and I might be very, very particular to who he goes to, I have almost an acre fenced in back yard and they run the whole yard.     Schnauzer Dogs can make good pets in Missouri if they match your IifestyIe. The Schnauzer is a thickly bearded, medium sized, Terrier type dog. Schnauzers are proud, vivacious animals. Schnauzers are protective toward their people and want to be the boss. It is important to thoroughly socialize and train a Schnauzer when it is a puppy. Schnauzers do fine with older kids. A Schnauzer needs lots and lots of exercise and a daily walk but can live in an apartment if its exercise needs are met.
