Schnauzer Rescue Information: The Schnauzer is a thickly bearded, medium sized, Terrier type dog. Schnauzers are proud, vivacious animals. Schnauzers are protective toward their people and want to be the boss. It is important to thoroughly socialize and train a Schnauzer when it is a puppy. Schnauzers do fine with older kids. A Schnauzer needs lots and lots of exercise and a daily walk but can live in an apartment if its exercise needs are met.

Schnauzer Trivia: The name Schnauzer is derived from the German word for snout; these dogs are named for their distinctive beards. Schnauzers were used as messenger dogs in World War I.

Schnauzer Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Nala is an 8 yr old scottie/schnauzer mix, I have had her since she was 12 weeks old. She is a very sweet dog and is stubborn at same time. She does well with older children over 12 yrs at least also with dogs around her size though her buddy was a German Shepherd. She would do well once she warms up to you just like anything else she can be shy, submissive and dominant it definitely would be great if you were around or aware of the breed as she is Scottish Terrier and Schnauzer. She is also potty trained and has never had health issues. She is almost 9 years old with a 2 year old personality young at heart and tries to talk to you.I have a ... (Read More)son he is 12 yrs old and has been around Nala from time he was born but I would say Nala is best with older kids now as she has gotten older. Great companion and a great personality. The only reason I am trying to rehome her is I am a single mom that works all the time and its not fair to her and also because I want her to live out the rest of her years around people that will spoil and spend time with her (Less)

Dixie is a mini-schnauzer about 2 1/2 years old and about 10lbs. This might be the sweetest dog I have ever meet. She loves children and her person. This girl will do great in any home, she is housebroken, still working on leash training, but is doing great. She has spent most her life inside a crate used for breeding, and all she wants is someone to love her and a nice lap to sit in. Please email for an application.

Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant

(Miniture Schnauzer) Maggie just turned 4 and has been owned by a few breeders, she is just beautiful but is a little fearful when she first meets new people, but then she becomes your shadow and wants to sit on your lap or right next to you. She has great house manners and walks perfect on a leash. (Please email for adoption application!) Maggie would love to be an only child, she deserves that after spending most of her young life having puppies.

Rescue Me ID: 16-12-03-00157Annie (female)

Schnauzer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed

Annie was dumped about a month ago. We were finally able to catch her Friday (12-2) morning. As soon as we got her home she started having puppies. It appears to be her 1st litter since we had to help deliver and show her how to clean them. She's a great mom and very attentive of the puppies. We are looking to place her and the puppies. Will be ready for adoption in about 8 weeks. She will be spayed and current on all shots before being released. Will need to re-reimburse for spay to adopt. Puppy listing 16-12-03-00161

Rescue Me ID: 16-07-18-00283batman (male)

Schnauzer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

I have a special needs mini schnauzer mix that has chronic dry eyes. I am sadly unable to give him the time and care he needs. I desperately need to find a new home for him. He is approximately 3 years old and is fully house trained, crate trained and is an all around good boy. He is not neutered. I have been caring for him for several months after a coworker said they would be taking him to the shelter. I do not want him to be put down. He deserves a loving and caring family. He is truly a special dog and will make wonderful companion for any person. He is great with other dogs and cats as well. Kind regards, Lynae Sammons
