Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This boy is about as adorable as they come. It may not look like it but Jasper's mom was a chocolate schnauzer and we are not sure about Dad. Jasper has long legs and personality that doesn't stop. He is great with other dogs and has all the energy you would expect from a 5 month old puppy. He loves everyone and is ready for a home of his own! We would love for Jasper to go to a home with another dog for him to play with. Apply at www.polkadogz.org. BEFORE applying, please be sure all your current pets are up to date on heartworm prevention and vaccinations and are spayed/neutered if you want to be considered for Jasper. Thank you.

Schnauzer    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Mattie is the sister of Macy. They are Schnauzers that came to us in a large rescue transport. Mattie has white toes and a white chest and is much less trusting than her sister. We are making progress with helping her understand that kind humans are her friends so she will become a pet. She has the potential to be a beautiful dog once she gets over her trauma and gets a professional grooming. She will be spayed, have a dental and get all vaccinations on 12/27. We hope to have her ready for adoption in the near future. She and her sister may have been used for breeding in a puppy mill situation which would account for the lack of human ... Schnauzer    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Macy will be a beautiful dog once she gets past her former life. We believe she and her sister may have been used as breeding dogs in a puppy mill. She is most likely about 3 years old. She is very wary of humans although she is making progress with learning to trust. She and her sister Mattie came to us with a large rescue transport. Macy is all black and a little more trusting of humans than her sister. Her coat is a little finer and she had some matting that she let us cut off on her first days with us. With good food and grooming this will be a lovely little girl! She will be spayed, have a dental, and get all vaccinations on ... Schnauzer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

Mia has a lovely temperament and just wants to be with humans as much as possible. She came to us with a lot of other dogs in a rescue transport, so we don't know much about her. She obviously has had puppies a few times, probably due to her lovely coat colors! She is a deep black with silver eyebrows, beard and feet. With some time on good food and a decent grooming this is going to be a beautiful dog! She has to have been a pet at some point and she tries to keep her room clean. She was just spayed, had a major dental cleaning that was way overdue, and got up to date on her shots. Through this process it was discovered that she ... We have to charge our maximum fee for her due to her high medical bills, but she is more than worth it. (Less)

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Abused/Neglected, Fearful/Anxious

Bonnie is pictured on the left. Bonnie is a special dog that we rescued from a neglectful situation. She and Clyde(Maltese mix also posted) came along together and we would prefer for them to be adopted together because Bonnie feels safest when she is with Clyde. Bonnie is fearful of some men and will take some time to adjust in her new home. It will need to be a safe, quiet environment where she can be comfortable. She is house broken. This sweet girl has had a rough life but has so much love to give to someone who can be patient with her. Bonnie and Clyde need someone to let them in to their hearts and give them a second chance.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Schnauzer in Florida
Schnauzer Dogs can make good pets in Florida if they match your IifestyIe. The Schnauzer is a thickly bearded, medium sized, Terrier type dog. Schnauzers are proud, vivacious animals. Schnauzers are protective toward their people and want to be the boss. It is important to thoroughly socialize and train a Schnauzer when it is a puppy. Schnauzers do fine with older kids. A Schnauzer needs lots and lots of exercise and a daily walk but can live in an apartment if its exercise needs are met.
