NO out of state adoptions. Our adoption area is LA County, Orange County Beach cities, the South Bay, Long Beach, RPV. Meet Jay, our bouncy 3 year old Schnauzer. This happy little guy has a great disposition and look at those legs! Those long legs make for some comical high jumping and bouncing like 'Tigger,' so a tall fence will be needed at his new home. He loves to cuddle as much as he loves to play. He does not bark much, but he knows when he is told to quiet down that he has to use his inside voice. Jay does know some basic commands such as sit and stay. He travels well in the car either sitting or laying down without a fuss. He is ... (Read More)housebroken with an open door and does his business outside. He is crated at night to sleep and goes right in without any issues. He is currently being fostered with other dogs and seems to fit right in. Kids over 7 please. Jay is being fostered and can be seen at the Animals Rule Saturday adoption event from 11am - 3pm at Creative Pet Supply -305 North Harbor Blvd. San Pedro, CA 90731.     Meet Mervyn! This little guy is a real crack up and lovable soul! He came into our rescue with his brother, Marvin, and his Mommy who is named Mimi. All 3 are listed on our site here. They were evidently left behind when some tenants moved out of a property. The owners of the property who also lived there left them outside until we came to get them. In rescue Mervyn can be a real comedian! Tactile like his brother Marty he is also very energetic and loves to throw around his own toys and catch them. In foster care he is with German Shepherds and other small dogs as well as cats and just loves everyone. Especially the big dogs. ... (Read More)His coat is non-shedding and less likely to cause allergies. At 4 1/2 months old we don't expect him to be much bigger than 10 to 12 pounds. We also think his color may lighten up a bit and be a bit more silvery. His adoption fee includes his neuter, current vaccinations, deworming, microchip, flea and tick treatment and grooming as well as wee wee pad training. As we pre-screen via email please tell us a bit about you such as your lifestyle, work schedule, area you live in, house or apartment, how many adults, children and pets are in the household etc. Please be aware that we often get up to 75 emails per dog we have for adoption so we do our best to get back to everyone. PIease Read Before Adopting a Schnauzer in California
Schnauzer Dogs can make good pets in California if they match your IifestyIe. The Schnauzer is a thickly bearded, medium sized, Terrier type dog. Schnauzers are proud, vivacious animals. Schnauzers are protective toward their people and want to be the boss. It is important to thoroughly socialize and train a Schnauzer when it is a puppy. Schnauzers do fine with older kids. A Schnauzer needs lots and lots of exercise and a daily walk but can live in an apartment if its exercise needs are met.

The name Schnauzer is derived from the German word for snout; these dogs are named for their distinctive beards. Schnauzers have been used to guard children and have been called Kinder Watchers. Schnauzers used to travel with German coaches. Schnauzers were used as messenger dogs in World War I.
