Rescue Me ID: 15-03-26-00524BARON (male)

Schnauzer    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Baron is an easy-going and loving 10-year old Mini-Schnauzer. He has been an only 'child' living with an older couple since he was a puppy. Though he spent most of his time with older people, he is a fun play-companion whenever the grandchildren are around. Baron listens very well with his come, sit, down, and go to bed commands. He is also very good with walking on the leash. He can be curious and will follow you around the house during the day but knows his off-limits areas (I have never had him jump on any furniture). Baron is current on all vaccinations and has his medical records with him. He was given a very good health review ... (Read More)at December's vet visit, especially for an older dog. Baron came to my house after my grandfather passed away. I already have my own dog and I want to find the best home for Baron. (Less)

Schnauzer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Look at that little face! Kimmie was dumped in my neighborhood three weeks ago and I've been caring for her ever since. The vet thinks she's 1-2 years old. I got her shots, but haven't spayed her yet. Kimmie was stand-offish at first, but very quickly became friendly and affectionate. She is very mellow with the three other dogs in my household -- the one everybody most easily gets along with. Calm, yet curious and playful. A sweetie!!

Mina was dumped in my neighborhood three weeks ago and I've been caring for her ever since. The vet thinks she's 3-6 years old. I got all her shots, but have not had her spayed yet. She is a love bug! Very friendly with people. Likes to go for a short walk, then cuddle on the couch all night. A little bossy with female dogs, so the easiest placement is with a male. Lovely, lovely girl.

Feisty little Bandit was found running on my street. He had been there a couple of days before we were able to capture him. He was scared, covered in twigs and matted fur, along with a chain around his neck he had been dragging. Nearly hit by cars several times. He was limping, due to a foot injury. We got him all cleaned up and he has really opened up. He seems to love all the females we have brought through the rescue but is more dominate (tho will tolerate small males) towards male dogs. NO LARGE MALE DOGS. He loves to play w/ the young kids and romp around the back yard, playing with various toys! Assuming he was a back yard only dog, he ...     Brittany is an 18 month old beautiful soft coated Black with white chest Schnauzer/Maltese Mix who weighs 10 1/2 pounds. Brittany came into our rescue from the shelter pregnant and on Thanksgiving Day she had her puppies. Now mama Brittany and her two babies are ready for their own loving forever homes. Brittany get's along with other dog so another small dog in the home would work with her. Brittany has learned how to use the doggy door at her foster home and seems to be doing very well. Brittany will do well in a home with children who are 10 years old and older where there is an adult home during the day. She will also do well with a retired person or couple who have lots of time to spoil this darling little girl. We like our rescue dogs and puppies to be placed into homes where someone is home during the day and consideration will be given to those homes first. All of PJ's Small Dog Rescue puppies and dogs are indoor dogs with outside potty and play privileges. Please click on our name PJ's Small Dog Rescue at he bottom of Brittany's page for further information about our rescue, policies and fees. He is very loving to most everyone. Probably not a good idea for older seniors due to activity level. He would make a GREAT family pet. He still needs a bit of attention as a puppy, but he will DEFINITEOY win your heart.. He has many years of life to live so it is important that it be the right match.     Misty - young adult, we are guessing around 3-4 years old. She had a miserable life before being found living in a mound of garbage. She was filthy, had a wire wrapped around her leg that was so tight her leg was dead for a while before she was found. It had to be amputated. Poor Misty had been through hell and back. She is fearful of young children and other animals. But she is making huge progress at her foster home. She is mellow, grateful and loves to cuddle. She's under 20 pounds, naturally has long soft hair. We see some Schnauzer or Westie in the face structure but the hair says terrier or Maltese. We really don't know. ...     Hi I am TOBY, a 2 year old Schnautzer / Yorkie Mix looking for a forever home. PIease Read Before Adopting a Schnauzer in California
Schnauzer Dogs can make good pets in California if they match your IifestyIe. The Schnauzer is a thickly bearded, medium sized, Terrier type dog. Schnauzers are proud, vivacious animals. Schnauzers are protective toward their people and want to be the boss. It is important to thoroughly socialize and train a Schnauzer when it is a puppy. Schnauzers do fine with older kids. A Schnauzer needs lots and lots of exercise and a daily walk but can live in an apartment if its exercise needs are met.
