Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected,
 Fearful/Anxious

Misty - young adult, we are guessing around 3-4 years old. She had a miserable life before being found living in a mound of garbage. She was filthy, had a wire wrapped around her leg that was so tight her leg was dead for a while before she was found. It had to be amputated. Poor Misty had been through hell and back. She is fearful of young children and other animals. But she is making huge progress at her foster home. She is mellow, grateful and loves to cuddle. She's under 20 pounds, naturally has long soft hair. We see some Schnauzer or Westie in the face structure but the hair says terrier or Maltese. We really don't know. ... (Read More)She is house trained, I know, surprising. ;) Not a barker but if she feels threatened she puts on a good show. (Less)

Sassy is a small schnauzer/terrier mix, approximately 7-8 years old, and weighs around 8 pounds. She generally gets along with other small dogs and people, but easily becomes skittish around large dogs and strangers. My great-grandfather has had her for five years after he adopted her at aT PetSmart adoption fair, and we suspect that some of her skittishness originates from her time with her original owners. PIease Read Before Adopting a Schnauzer in California
Schnauzer Dogs can make good pets in California if they match your IifestyIe. The Schnauzer is a thickly bearded, medium sized, Terrier type dog. Schnauzers are proud, vivacious animals. Schnauzers are protective toward their people and want to be the boss. It is important to thoroughly socialize and train a Schnauzer when it is a puppy. Schnauzers do fine with older kids. A Schnauzer needs lots and lots of exercise and a daily walk but can live in an apartment if its exercise needs are met.
