Schnauzer    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected

This wonderful, little teddy bear of a girl is Camille, a 10 year old purebred schnauzer who was rescued from a horrible puppy mill (see the story in 2014 on our facebook page). Camille is extremely shy so will need a quiet home with a patient and kind human to bring her out of her shell. She is just a sweetheart, wants to be loved and petted and once she bonds with you, will give you love and kisses in return. She is curious about the world but at the same time, afraid. She needs a home where she can live out the rest of her life in peace and kindness. She deserves that from us, after how she was treated. Camille has been fully vetted ... (Read More)and had a dental last year. Camille's adoption fee is $100. No kids, as they would be too boisterous, and she hasn't been tested with cats. Probably would be ok though. Would do well with another small, gentle dog in the home who could show her the ropes. Please visit resqac.com for more info and pics. (Less)

Rocky is about 6 or 7 years old. He is about 35 to 40 pounds. He was primarily an outside dog before coming into rescue, but is potty trained inside. He loves to get attention. He knows some basic commands but can be stubborn. He walks pretty well on a leash but he does jump on you. He would make a great companion dog because He loves to sit and be with you. If you leave him he will whine because he does have some separation anxiety due to the lack of attention he had when he was an outside dog. He gets along well with other dogs but he does stalk cats.     Meet Thomas, a sweet 10-year old fellow that was found on the cold streets, hungry and injured. Thomas is almost 10 lbs with black/grey fur. He has definitely had some tough times but you'd never know it given his sweet disposition. Thomas only has one eye but sees and hears well. He always knows when a treat is coming when he hears the crinkle of the bag. He gets along good with other dogs and is comfortable in a crate. He loves naps on his person's lap and following his person from room to room like a shadow. PIease Read Before Adopting a Schnauzer in California
Schnauzer Dogs can make good pets in California if they match your IifestyIe. The Schnauzer is a thickly bearded, medium sized, Terrier type dog. Schnauzers are proud, vivacious animals. Schnauzers are protective toward their people and want to be the boss. It is important to thoroughly socialize and train a Schnauzer when it is a puppy. Schnauzers do fine with older kids. A Schnauzer needs lots and lots of exercise and a daily walk but can live in an apartment if its exercise needs are met.

The name Schnauzer is derived from the German word for snout; these dogs are named for their distinctive beards. Schnauzers have been used to guard children and have been called Kinder Watchers. Schnauzers used to travel with German coaches. Schnauzers were used as messenger dogs in World War I.
