Rescue Me ID: 16-06-27-00230Paisley (female)

Schnauzer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

*IF YOU CAN READ THIS, I AM STILL AVAILABLE. IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A CHANCE AT ME, PLEASE FILL OUT AN APPLICATION BY GOING TO AZRAIN.ORG AND CLICKING ON THE ADOPT TAB, THEN THE DOG INTEREST FORM. THERE IS NO WAY TO BE CONSIDERED FOR ME WITHOUT COMPLETING ONE. R.A.I.N RESCUE DOES NOT BRING ANY OF THEIR DOGS OR PUPPIES TO ANY EVENTS. IF YOU ARE CHOSEN TO SEE ME, YOU WILL GET A CALL. SOMETIMES IT TAKES A BIT TO FIND OUR FOREVER HOMES AS WE HAVE TO BE SPAY or NEUTERED 1ST, CURRENT ON SHOTS AND MICRO-CHIPPED'|.AND THE DOG DIRECTOR IS VERY PICKY! ITS ALL ABOUT 'US' ! Pretty Paisley is an owner surrender. She initially came to RAIN Rescue ... (Read More)pregnant as a stray. After her pups were adopted, we found her a home where she has been for a little over 2 months. She is a lively girl who loves play time and a good arm to throw a ball. She does fine with other dogs, and has lived with several while in the foster home, and then she moved to her new owner who also had a dog. Only problem is, Paisley plays rough, and it isn't acceptable in the home since she is making the families 1st dog feel uncomfortable. They felt it would be best if she could find another family with either a playful dog or no dogs. The family described her as a silly, fun girl. (Shows Puppy behaviors still). She loves going outside to play. She loves to chew, so our choice for her is to have a home where they will have plenty of chewies (Bully Sticks are the best) and we also think that a home that can spoil her and be the only dog would be beneficial to her. We truly do not want another home with a dog to get her and then want to return her due to her roughness. Because we are aware that she plays rough, its in her best interest to have a family member that will play with her and teach her the limitations of rough play. Paisley does well going out a doggy door for potty. She is kennel trained at night and is fine with that, although previous Foster let her sleep in bed with her, so she will adjust to whatever you prefer..... She weighs approx. 11 lbs, is spay, micro-chipped and current on all her shots. Her adoption fee is set at $200.00. IF Interested in her, Go to the ADOPT tab, and click on Dog Interest Form on our website at www.azrain.org. THANKS FOR WANTING TO RESCUE YOUR NEXT FAMILY MEMBER!! Do you see me? If so, my forever home has NOT been chosen yet. The only way to have a chance at me is to get your application in at www.azrain.org Please don't call to ask if this dog/puppy is still available. We remove them with in 24 hours of adoption, besides, you know you will find another one and your application will be good for 90 days for any of our dogs/puppies at R.A.I.N. Rescue! The 1st step to adopting any of our dogs is to fill out an application by going to our website. www.azrain.org. Click on forms tab, then DOG INTEREST FORM. Your application stays on file with us for 90 days, in the event you are not chosen to adopt the dog you filled out the application for. Please don't email us, if you haven't filled out an application 1st. We do not bring our small dogs to adoption events, because #1) they are normally scared to death and very nervous, not knowing what's going on with the many people coming up to the pens and hovering over them. Many shiver and shake with the unknown. #2) People adopt on impulse when they see a particularly "cute" dog/puppy. When they are adopted on impulse, reality sets in with in the 1st month of adopting it...Oh, this puppy ate the leg off my chair, I can't have that!.., or ...You said this dog was house trained and it pees all over... and then in many cases they are returned to rescue. #3) When people have to fill out a form 1st, and read all the questions about the care of a dog/puppy, they see that there are many aspects to adopting a family member, that they may not of thought of. They also realize that it is a life time commitment. The application Is done prior to adopting, so the family understands the seriousness and responsibilities of ownership. We have applications available at 2840 W Chandler Blvd. (At Petsmart, in the Lowes shopping center). It is located at the 101 and chandler blvd. OR, you can go to our website and get one, then email back to us at info@azrain.org OR, hand deliver it to us on Saturdays at our Donation Table we have set up, right of the front door of Petsmart. Volunteers run the table every Saturday from 10am-2pm. They will make sure it gets to the correct Dept. Many Thanks! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We are a 501c3 non profit Rescue. R.A.I.N. Rescue Me ID: 16-04-30-00305Smokey (female)

Schnauzer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Smokey is a 3.5yr old female Schnauzer/Border Terrier mix who came to us from the MASH unit. She is full grown and weighs in at 24lbs. She is low shed. MASH is the Sheriff Joe animal crimes force where dogs are siezed from hoarding situations, puppy mills, breeders, etc. We aren't sure of what situation Smokey came from, but we know it wasn't a good one. When Smokey first came to us, you couldn't even touch her. She wanted nothing to do with humans. We have worked with her at our facility and in her amazing foster home and Smokey has made a complete turn around. Smokey now understands what a loving touch is and enjoys being around her ... (Read More)humans! We are so proud of how far she has come! Smokey is currently in a foster home with a family with kids and other dogs. Smokey does amazing with other dogs.. no issues at all. Smokey loves to be pet and brushed by her people. Smokey goes in and out the dog door and is fully housebroken. She does like having her 'safe area' when going to a new place (an expen or a kennel that is just for her to get to when she is nervous). Smokey prefers woman, and adults, and will thrive in a home that understands her background and has a woman(or women) that is willing to work with her and get her to where she understands it's all ok and gets comfortable. We feel she would do best in a home with a dog door and a securely fenced yard. Someone that works a lot and isn't home often would not be a good fit for her. We are hopeful that with the progress we have seen, that Smokey can find her perfect fit forever home. Smokey isn't ever going to be the outgoing dog that you can take hiking with you or to the store... she's a special girl that has so much love to give in the comfort of her own home. Smokey is fixed, up to date on vaccines, chipped, vet checked, comes with 30 days of free pet insurance, and comes with a free vet visit. For more information or to set up a time to meet Smokey, contact her foster mom Katie at 714-876-5916 (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Schnauzer in Arizona
Schnauzer Dogs can make good pets in Arizona if they match your IifestyIe. The Schnauzer is a thickly bearded, medium sized, Terrier type dog. Schnauzers are proud, vivacious animals. Schnauzers are protective toward their people and want to be the boss. It is important to thoroughly socialize and train a Schnauzer when it is a puppy. Schnauzers do fine with older kids. A Schnauzer needs lots and lots of exercise and a daily walk but can live in an apartment if its exercise needs are met.
