Rescue Me ID: 17-07-21-00195Roscoe & Pepper (female)

Schnauzer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Roscoe & Pepper (boy and girl) are 9 years old. As their family was splitting up, the mom and kids no longer had the ability to care for their dogs and had to give up all 3 of their pets. During the process, the 3rd dog snapped one day while they were all playing ball and attacked Pepper who LOVES balls more than anything else . . . Pepper suffered severe injuries which required emergency procedures to save her life -- the rescue where I volunteer took care of her (in a wonderful foster home where she healed completely) and vet bills were almost $7,000. But, we're happy to say that she is fully recovered and Roscoe (her best friend) is ... (Read More)very happy that Pepper is still with us today. The family's 3rd dog has been adopted out as an only dog (their owner said she had never done anything like this before but we didn't want to risk it happening ever again to another dog). Pepper and Roscoe have been under the rescue's care since March. They are completely vetted -- vaccinations, rabies shots, microchips, spayed/neutered, and just this week they both had complete dentals (another $710). These dogs didn't come to the rescue in the best of shape and their teeth had probably never been cleaned before. Pepper needed 5 extractions and Roscoe needed 19! But they both now have kissing fresh breath and are ready for their new and forever family. Currently they're in a foster home with the family's 4 dogs and 4 children and they're doing great. They're easy going, housebroken, playful, loving ... just so precious! We'd like a home for them where they'll get lots of love -- and preferably not where they will be alone for long days while the family is away. We would like a home with a yard for them so that they can play safely. Lots of grass will be nice as they do love to fetch, and Pepper will chase down a ball of any size. I've included a few pictures of Pepper in her full body wrap after surgery, and the very happy day when she was released form the hospital and picked up her ball :) Also a picture of when Roscoe went to visit her for emotional support while she had a 7 night stay at the vet before she could be released to foster care. The rescue is asking an adoption fee of $560 for the pair ... these two have been through a lot with losing their home and with Pepper's injuries ... I want to make sure they get the best home ever. If interested in meeting them, you may request an adoption application . . . or if not adopted by Sunday, they'll be at Pet Club (9325 E Shea Blvd) from 11am til 2pm at an adoption event. .... also some video of Pepper and the big ball :) copy & paste link: https://www.facebook.com/SherryPettaRescue/videos/765146380277194/?hc_ref=ARQd_jdBnbJf0H3-VhBkLQEipSYe13kR9FiTFSFjhJfdahGa204nQ3JvIOEcMgLXmZI&pnref=story -- -- -- -- and a link to see more photos: https://www.facebook.com/pg/SherryPettaRescue/photos/?tab=album&album_id=765167506941748 (Less)

A beautiful small girl (around 13 pounds), Fancy is very affection.ate She's a real people person. She needs a person or family who is around a lot .. maybe works from home, or retired, or a family with a stay-at-home mom, for example. Right now she's a little short on hair because she was in such bad shape when found that she had to be completely shaved. The good news is that her fluff is coming back. Fancy was rescued on a hot afternoon when she was found lying on hot pavement, full of very uncomfortable mattes and hundreds of ticks. Fancy gives very special little kisses, whether you're driving, sitting on the couch, or really ... (Read More)anywhere you are that she can reach you. She loves to be held and just wants to be touched so she knows a friendly human is close by. Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Fred & Wilma were found together roaming the streets. No owner showed up for them; they even went through the County system and weren't claimed. Not wearing ID. Not chipped. So now they are safe with a rescue and we would love to see them stay together. If they stuck to each other on the streets, we don't believe they should lose each other now. Fred is a tiny tot about 10-11 pounds (perhaps a schnauzer/dachshund mix), 3 years old, soft and loving, total sweetheart, quiet and a little shy. Wilma is around 28 pounds and 6 years old and she loves people, good with other dogs, and I think is Fred's 'rock.' They are spayed/neutered, both ...     Gage is a Soft Coat Wheaton / Standard Schnauzer mix. He's not tall but he's sturdy :)) Gage is between 45-50 pounds and was spoiled to the point of putting on a few extra pounds but not spoiled enough with walks and playtime. But!! He is getting back in shape and LOVING it! This guy absolutely loves to play -- he must have a secure fenced-in yard of his own where he can run and play. He is good with most dogs smaller than him or bigger than him -- but not the same size. If you have another dog, we'll do a meet & greet to make sure everyone gets along. Gage is also great with people, likes kids but children in the family should be at ... PIease Read Before Adopting a Schnauzer in Arizona
Schnauzer Dogs can make good pets in Arizona if they match your IifestyIe. The Schnauzer is a thickly bearded, medium sized, Terrier type dog. Schnauzers are proud, vivacious animals. Schnauzers are protective toward their people and want to be the boss. It is important to thoroughly socialize and train a Schnauzer when it is a puppy. Schnauzers do fine with older kids. A Schnauzer needs lots and lots of exercise and a daily walk but can live in an apartment if its exercise needs are met.
