Rescue Me ID: 14-11-20-00362Peaches (female)

Schnauzer    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Sweet Peaches was turned in to the shelter so badly matted--no one knew what breed of dog she was! A trip to the doggy spa revealed a young schnauzer! Her skin was so infected, and the matting so bad that it actually ripped her side open. She is recovering nicely, but it's important to note that whoever adopts her MUST keep up with her grooming requirements. She is okay with other dogs, she definitely prefers people. We have not tested her around kids yet. She has been spayed, microchipped, is current on shots. She has also been started on Heartguard and Frontline.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Schnauzer in Arizona
Schnauzer Dogs can make good pets in Arizona if they match your IifestyIe. The Schnauzer is a thickly bearded, medium sized, Terrier type dog. Schnauzers are proud, vivacious animals. Schnauzers are protective toward their people and want to be the boss. It is important to thoroughly socialize and train a Schnauzer when it is a puppy. Schnauzers do fine with older kids. A Schnauzer needs lots and lots of exercise and a daily walk but can live in an apartment if its exercise needs are met.
