Rescue Me ID: 18-04-21-00172ROGER (male)

Schnauzer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

SAY HELLO TO ROGER! Roger is a 2 year old high energy Schnauzer mix boy. Weighing in at 16 pounds, Roger is a diamond in the rough. Roger was surrendered to us and was raised as an outdoor dog only who was not handled very kindly or treated as a member of the family. Since he has been with his foster, he has since learned that hands are NOT for hitting and a warm bed inside is rather nice. Roger is crate trained and has a bit of a clue about houstraining but that's about it. He will require a family that is willing to provide this very bright boy some gentle guidance until he understands where he is to go and what he is to do. He was ... (Read More)very timid when we met him and offered to bite when his leash was pulled. We have worked with him on that and has been to a few meets where he was not the one being met and he did quite well. Roger now walks well on his leash and enjoys his rides in the car. He does not pull on his walks, but is timid when meeting strangers. He's not at all barky nor does he chew on things not meant for chewing. He does come when called and plays with his toys. Roger seems to like kids but due to his possible biting previously, we'd say a home where the children are 9 years old and over and have and understanding and respect for dogs will be considered. Though Roger gets on well with his foster mates, he would best be suited with a female dog that is similar in size, age and temperament. He still has some testosterone since his neuter and can be a little snarky with the boys. Again, he does get along with most of the dogs here however. Roger's going to need an experienced adopter that will show patient love and understanding for this wonderful boy as he has little knowledge of being a house pet and family member. Roger is a low shedding longer coated breed that will require regular brushing as well as professional grooming every 8 to 10 weeks. Roger's adoption fee is 325.00 This fee includes his Veterinarian Wellness checks while here at the rescue, his neuter, all vaccinations including rabies and bordatella, de-worming, microchip with lifetime membership and professional groom. Rescue Me ID: 18-04-19-00232Benji (male)

Schnauzer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Benji everyone! Benji is a 3 year old probably a mini mix Schnauzer, but we are not sure. He walks well on a leash and is well behaved but is excited when going on a walk. He was rescued from Korea from a horrible situation. He loves people even though they weren't very nice to him in Korea. I would recommend he go to a home who has active parents, he'd make a great hiking buddy. He is dog selective and is good with dogs his size or smaller. Big dogs he tends to get bossy with and snaps at them. I think it stems from his living conditions in Korea and having to fight for food. If you have a large senior mellow dog like I do, he is ... (Read More)totally fine and doesn't even bother them, it's the young active ones he has a problem with. He loves to run and play and discovered toys for the first time and enjoys laying in our yard playing with his toys. He can be a bit mouthy but we are working on that, I think it's his way of showing his affection for you, so I wouldn't recommend he go to a home a home with small children. He is a quick learner and really just wants to please you. Benji weighs approximately 22bs. He is really a delight and always so happy to see people and loves to sit in your lap and be petted. Benji's adoption fee is $350. If you are interested in adoption Benji, please email us azlablady@hotmail.com Email is always answered more quickly than phone calls are returned. Thank you for taking the time to email us. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 18-04-12-00152Dandi (male)

Schnauzer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Look at this handsome short stuff! Meet Dandi, he is probably around 2-3 years old, an he weighs about 15-20 pounds and is full grown. He looks like a Schnoodle, or a Dandi Dinmont Terrier! His hair is very soft. He may require grooming. He is just the right size, not too big and not too small. What a happy, joyful dog he is. He gets along with other dogs. He has nice leash manners, and loves to go walking. He is good with adults and kids, but may be shy of men. So we ask that if he is, you are patient and kind with him, and let him adjust on his own timeline. If you are interested in giving this handsome boy a home he can call his own, let ... (Read More)us know!!! As part of your adoption package, each dog will be fully vaccinated (Da2PP, Rabies), have a microchip (with lifetime registration), and be spayed/neutered. Each dog will receive 6 mths of heartworm preventative medication. You will receive a free bag of premium dog food, and a gift card from Choice Pet Market. You are entitled to a free physical exam with one of our vets. Each of our dogs comes with 4 training classes that are mandatory to attend. These classes take place at Choice Pet Market in Chandler on a Tues or Wed evening from 6-7 pm, and will be scheduled after adoption. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 18-04-07-00347TAMMY (female)

Schnauzer Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Tammy is an incredibly sweet and easy going schnauzer girl, friendly as can be, loving, absolutely delightful. She's 5-6 years old and has recently lost her home due to her owner moving to assisted living. Tammy has been seriously spoiled with food and treats and weighs in at 23 pounds (she should be in the 15-16 pound range) so her new owner should be dedicated to portion control, healthy snacks (like tidbits of green beans or shredded carrots), and have a nice yard for her so she can get a little exercise any time she wants. Tammy has a little bit of a limp but we had her checked out by the vet and had x-rays done to see if there was ... (Read More)anything she needed done and there is not; she may have been born with this little skip to her step or perhaps had an injury at some point that didn't heal exactly right, but the bones and joints all look good! She's not in any pain with this and still enjoys her walks but probably for now only to the corner and back until she's at her good weight. Once she has her girlish figure back, we believe this will also make her walking more enjoyable for her. Tammy also enjoys the company of other dogs and is happy to join in for play-time. We prefer any children in Tammy's home be at least 8-9 year old and she's also looking for a setting where she wouldn't be left at home alone all day. If you'd like to meet this extra sweet butter muffin, please come to Pet Club on Sunday, 9325 E Shea Blvd in Scottsdale, 11am til 2pm. If she doesn't find her dream family on Sunday, we will be accepting applications for her -- please email us to request your application. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 18-03-29-00321Thor (male)

Schnauzer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Thor is a 2 year old schnoodle (schnauzer/poodle mix) who is looking for a loving forever home. Thor is a high energy boy who is always on the go! Thor loves to play with toys, but is an independent player and prefers not to play with other dogs. Thor would do best as the only dog in the home, but may coexist with a calm and easy going dog. Thor would need to meet any other dogs currently in the home before adoption. Thor needs a home with no children under the age of 18. Thor previously bit a 9 year old in his home while she was petting another dog. He also has a bad habit of resource guarding, and will need a patient family who is willing ... (Read More)to work with him on his bad habits. Thor is both house broken and doggy door trained, as well as being kennel trained. Thor likes to ride in the car, and loves to go on walks, so he is ready to go on plenty of adventures with his new family. Thor is protective of his home and will bark. Thor is a ladies man who tends to love on women more quickly than men. Thor is an outgoing boy who loves to seek attention and affection. Thor has quickly made great friends with our staff and volunteers, and we are eager to see him find a loyal family to show his love. Thor weighs in just under 20 pounds fully grown. He is neutered, up to date on shots, microchipped and vet checked. His adoption fee is $300. His adoption includes a free vet visit as well as 30 days of free pet insurance. PIease Read Before Adopting a Schnauzer in Arizona
Schnauzer Dogs can make good pets in Arizona if they match your IifestyIe. The Schnauzer is a thickly bearded, medium sized, Terrier type dog. Schnauzers are proud, vivacious animals. Schnauzers are protective toward their people and want to be the boss. It is important to thoroughly socialize and train a Schnauzer when it is a puppy. Schnauzers do fine with older kids. A Schnauzer needs lots and lots of exercise and a daily walk but can live in an apartment if its exercise needs are met.
